Garden Center

Loki's Garden was founded in 2009 by four guys with a diverse range of backgrounds that combine to make this company unique. We're always striving to give you the very best experience when dealing with our company. Whether you're a customer of our garden center, landscaping, or construction services, we pride ourselves in offering a diverse range of exceptional plants -- many of which cannot otherwise be found in the Des Moines area.

Landscape Design and Installation

Our landscape designers focus on using sustainable and environmentally friendly practices to solve your toughest challenges and beautify your yard in a natural, responsible way.

Construction Services

We also provide light construction -- such as decks, fences, and patios, as well as interior work including kitchen and bathroom remodels, painting, and handyman projects. We're staffed with carpenters, painters, electricians, plumbers, and more!

Our Team

Loki

Loki (Don L. Curry) is the head of the landscape and construction services areas. He was raised in the Pacific Northwest and has a deep love of gardening. His moniker came from his third-grade teacher while his class studied the Norse god of mischief. Loki brings an original, imaginative, playful spin to all his projects. A versatile guy, he's also restored three 100-plus-year-old homes in the Des Moines area.

Justin

Justin W. Hancock is a horticulturist with Better Homes and Gardens in Des Moines. Having grown up in Northern Minnesota, he knows hardy plants. Passionate about gardening, Justin earned a bachelor's degree horticulture degree from the University of Wisconsin--River Falls and is always on the lookout for the coolest new plant varieties. His yard is packed with more than 2,000 different kinds already!

Brian

Brian J. Douglas is also in the administration area of Loki's Garden. From scheduling consultations to handling the company's finances, Brian keeps himself very busy during the on and off seasons. He's from Naperville, Illinois, and is an alumnus of Iowa State University.

Dan

Dan Royer is Loki's Garden's marketing guru. Originally from Perry, Iowa, he's an alumnus of Iowa State University where he earned a degree in Advertising and Music. Having grown up on a wildlife refuge and prairie restoration area in Dallas County, Dan loves spending time outdoors learning about new plants. During the off-season, he enjoys restoring his 100 year-old Victorian home in Des Moines with the company of his cat, Meller.

Hayley

Hayley Crum is our garden center manager. A native of Des Moines, Iowa, she loves nature and has an amazing eye for putting together beautiful container gardens. She earned her horticulture degree from Iowa State University and spent a summer working at the Better Homes and Gardens Test Garden in downtown Des Moines.
